NBC Sports wanted to make sure America could clear their calendar to enjoy Thursday Night Football to the fullest.

We knew the only way this was possible was if we made Thursday night the official, legal, start to the weekend in America.

Our demands were simple. We, the people, the football fans, the hard working people of the United States deserve better. To be precise, what we deserve is a longer weekend and one that started at the same time as Thursday night kick off.

All we asked is that the government simply change our national calendar, and make Thursday night the start of the weekend. That’s all. No big deal.

Working with influential sports creators, including Dude Perfect, we launched a nation-wide PSA campaign, with custom commercial spots that drove to a real Change.org petition, and received over 2,000 signatures from real, hardworking, American football fans.
